Dealt a terrible hand by Donald Trump, President Joe Biden has led the country in a positive direction, writes Juan Williams of The Hill. Trump spent crucial moments fluffing his COVID response, even lying about the severity of the situation. Since Biden came into office, the infection rate has been more than halved, with millions getting vaccinated. Just ask Americans how they feel: in October 59% of them disapproved of Trump's handling of the pandemic, while Biden's response has a 60% approval rate. With good leadership and smart planning, he took a situation that was grim under Trump and turned it into something more promising.
Donald Trump deserves a lot more credit for policies that have made Joe Biden's life easier, asserts Rich Lowry of the New York Post. While the current president often berates his predecessor, he should be more grateful. Trump's Operation Warp Speed was crucial in having vaccines this quickly. His administration had contracts for up to 800 million doses of vaccines from various providers. When the former president said a vaccine would be ready before the end of 2020, he was widely ridiculed in the media. Turns out he was right all along. Much of Biden's pandemic successes were built on the groundwork that Trump and his administration did.
